Another season has gone by at the club (our 151st) and before I get going with this message I really want to thank everybody that helped in any way when we had the flooding at the club back in January. It was a very testing time but we came through it, the response was overwhelming to say the least.
The Titans finished in a very respectable 4th place, the injuries we had early in the season plus the loss of our forwards coach to Harlequins could have disrupted the team but after a few weeks of restructuring we got our system back together. This gave an opportunity to some of our younger players to step up from the warriors and they soon became regular starters after some excellent performances.
The highlight for me was doing the double on both Redruth and league champions Camborne, how great were those matches.
The warriors have been challenged this year, the players that step up to the Titans leave a gap to fill and the league they are in contain some good local first teams. The lads are very keen to hit the ground running now they will be into a more competitive league.
The ladies keep on with their journey, they have good numbers at training and the matches are starting to build so they can get some continuity, good luck ladies.
Our junior section has again performed amazingly, we really have a wonderful mix of all ages, boys and girls enjoying the game that we all love. A huge thanks again to the army of parents and volunteers that put all this together week after week.
You may have seen our social media has been enhanced this year thanks to Jack Scadden, we now have some very impressive numbers when it comes to viewing what goes on FB & Insta, since last July when pre season started we have had 14.7 million views!!!!!
Our followers on SM have also increased by 8000, it gives our supporters and fans all over the world an opportunity to stay right up to date with all that is going on at the club, a huge thanks to Jack who to travels to all games to film these moments. Some of the tries we have scored are outstanding and some players know where the camera is!!
A massive thank you to all our sponsors, your continued support allows us to try and achieve the highest standards for all the teams, to have local business's associated with us is wonderful, I cant thank you enough.
To our small band of volunteers that help with the pitches, grounds, cleaning, getting balls of the roof, repairing fences, painting dugouts, washing sponsors boards etc etc etc, thank you for your hard work.
Last but not least a huge, massive, thanks to all our wonderful supporters that turn up week in, week out to cheer on the teams. Our numbers through the gate are right up there in the top 4 across all rugby clubs in the national leagues. I try to walk around the pitch to say hello to the supporters and you all seem to be enjoying the match days which is very pleasing to see. When the sun is shining and the stands are full there really is nowhere better to be.
So that's it, have a lovely summer, I will see you all again next season.
