A number of our junior teams have recently been on tour and below you can see a small write up from each teams trip.
Sharks. U11’s
The U11 tour saw the Sharks head to Bude for the weekend.
Saturday was spent clearing away the cobwebs with surfing lessons in conditions that even the instructors said were challenging, and that was just for the parents.
The Sharks lined up in custom VX3 tour shirts in a round robin against a familiar foe from recent tournaments, Bude, with Plymouth Albion providing a new opponent.
All games were competitive and the Sharks offered to host Bude for a return tour fixture in 2027.

The Thunders U12’s
From a parent’s perspective, the recent tour was a fantastic experience for both the boys and the adults. It was brilliant to see how much the team spirit has grown, not just on the pitch but off it too. The boys threw themselves into every activity, from climbing and caving to paddle boarding, and it was clear how much they enjoyed sharing these challenges together. The rugby itself was only part of the story. This was really about building confidence, friendships, and respect for one another, which shone through in everything they did.
One of the highlights was the range of team games that brought everyone together, including the now-legendary adults vs kids rounders match, which was as competitive as it was entertaining. I’ve never seen so many kids enthusiastically playing a game of rounders against their adults and trying to stop them getting runs! The tour also gave parents a great opportunity to get to know each other better, creating a real sense of community around the team. Off the field, the boys continued to bond, with many strengthening existing friendships and others forming new ones, which was great to see.
There were plenty of fun moments that kept everyone laughing, especially the “toy soldier” challenge and “Andy’s coming!” call with many a forfeit for those who failed! Watching the scramble was hilarious and summed up the spirit of the tour perfectly: fun, inclusive, and full of great memories for both the boys and their families.

Raptors U14’s
The Raptors have recently come back from their tour to St Austell Cornwall. Porthpean Outdoor pursuits centre hosted us brilliantly.
The Raptor’s players and parents were involved in all activities, from playing tour games that lasted the whole weekend. To water activities on the local beach, Laser Tag and Archery. Coaches had what seemed to be and endlesssupply of prizes and treats, to keep the fun competition going from the Fridaynight, through to our rugby game on the Sunday.
Although the activities were a great success, seeing all the boys come together for the Saturday evening entertainment of Karaoke, was amazing. All the boys got involved taking to the stage for an individual song or as small groups crowding around the mic and dancing. Even some of the parents and coaches try to hit a note or two.
Our Game on the Sunday was against the Local team St Austell, who were great hosts. The game was a good competition with a number of our boys playing out of their normal positions, but we ended up on top winning 19-29. All together another fantastic weekend building a team of players, parents and coaches.
