Taunton Ladies pre season opener

Taunton Ladies started this season against Cullompton 2ndson Sunday. Despite the 30 degree heat and not so cooling breeze the ladies of both sides played a hard game. Cullompton however showed their experience to push the Taunton defence back until a late pass out to the wing scored the first try within the first 10 minutes. A quick conversion had Cully up by7points.

Sadly for Taunton the process repeated again but this time the Taunton Ladies were on the case and made extra work for the Cullompton attack with a tight defence that was nearly unbreakable.

Taunton Ladies changed the tempo after a penalty and kick into touch which forced the Cullompton defence to wake up. After Multiple fazes and a steam roller over the line for the forwards Taunton scored.

Taunton came close a further 3 times but the experience of the Cullompton defence meant Taunton didn’t find the line. Taunton Ladies held off any break aways and their defence was strong which made hard going for the Cullompton side.

Despite the heat, the Taunton Ladies left the field with massive smiles on their faces for their first game this season.
