Ollie, who previously represented Taunton on the field, will now take on a key role in helping the club continue to develop its commercial offering, strengthen relationships with existing sponsors and partners, and build new connections across the Taunton community and beyond.

Having experienced the club from a player's perspective, Ollie returns with a strong understanding of what makes Taunton RFC special and is looking forward to using his experience, enthusiasm and relationships to help the club grow both on and off the field.

Ollie said:

“I’m incredibly excited to be starting a new chapter with Taunton Rugby Club. Having previously been involved as a player, it feels particularly special to now return in a different role and help play a part in its continued growth both on and off the field.

“I’m really looking forward to meeting our sponsors, supporters and wider Taunton community, building new relationships and finding exciting ways to promote the club. There’s a lot to look forward to, and I can’t wait to get started!”

Ollie's appointment comes as Nick Mason steps down from his position as Commercial & Sponsorship Manager after several years of involvement with the club, initially as a player before moving into the commercial side of the organisation.

Chairman John Wrelton said:

“Having stayed in touch with Ollie Devoto since his last appearance at Taunton RFC I am so pleased to welcome him back now working alongside the Operations Team and Management Committee helping us to promote the club and champion rugby at every level here at Taunton Rugby Club.

“His enthusiasm and experience will be a true asset to our club and I wish him a long, happy and successful new career with us. Let's hope to see junior Devoto’s in Taunton shirts soon.”

The club would also like to place on record its sincere thanks to Nick for his contribution over the years.

John added:

“On behalf of the Management Committee, Sponsors, Players and Supporters of Taunton RFC I would like to send a huge vote of gratitude and thanks to Nick for his years of service to the club both as an outstanding player and in recent years for all of his hard work promoting the club and the incredible hard work he has done both generating new sponsorships and caring for the existing ones.

“Nick will be truly missed by all who have had the pleasure of knowing him at Taunton RFC and we wish him every happiness and success in the future.”

Nick will be working closely with Ollie over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth handover and introduce him to the club's existing sponsors, partners and commercial contacts.

Speaking ahead of his departure, Nick said:

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Taunton RFC and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities, experiences and friendships I have made through the club.

“A huge thank you goes to all of our sponsors and partners. We have some fantastic businesses supporting Taunton Rugby Club, and I have genuinely enjoyed building those relationships and seeing the support they give to the club. I hope everyone will give Ollie the same welcome and support that they have given me.

“I will make sure I am in touch with everyone before I leave and will do everything I can to make the handover as smooth as possible.

“Although I am moving on from my role, I will continue to follow Taunton RFC closely and wish Ollie, the club, our sponsors, players, volunteers and supporters every success for the future.”

With Ollie now joining the club's Operations Team and Management Committee, Taunton RFC is looking forward to building on its strong commercial foundations and continuing to develop the relationships that are so important to the club.

Welcome back, Ollie — and here's to the next chapter at Taunton RFC.
