Taunton Titans bring their 2025/26 campaign to a close this weekend with a trip to Exeter University, as both sides look to finish the season on a high.
The Titans head into the final round of fixtures having already secured 4th place in the league, sitting on 84 points after an impressive and consistent season. With their league position confirmed, the focus will be on ending the campaign with another strong performance and maintaining the momentum built in recent weeks.
Exeter University, meanwhile, currently sit 12th in the table on 53 points and are set to compete in the relegation play-off. Despite their position, Exeter have shown their quality at times this season and will be determined to build confidence ahead of their upcoming play-off fixture with a positive result on home soil.
The reverse fixture between the two sides came all the way back at the start of the season, in what proved to be a closely contested encounter. On that occasion, Exeter edged a thrilling game, running out 37–35 winners. With such a narrow margin separating the sides previously, another competitive contest can be expected this weekend.
Both teams come into the fixture off the back of strong results. The Titans secured an entertaining 42–36 victory over Old Redcliffians at Summerfield Stadium last weekend, signing off their home campaign in style. Exeter also impressed on the road, travelling to Hornets and coming away with a 36–24 win, highlighting their ability to perform under pressure.
With both sides in good form and plenty of attacking threat on show, the final game of the season promises to be an open and exciting contest. For the Titans, it is an opportunity to round off a successful campaign on a high note, while Exeter will be looking to carry momentum into their crucial play-off match.
Elsewhere, Taunton Warriors also conclude their season this week with a Friday night fixture at Summerfield Stadium. They take on Old Redcliffians 2nd XV, with a 19:30 kick off, in what promises to be a great occasion under the lights as the squad looks to finish their campaign strongly in front of a home crowd.
As the curtain comes down on the 2025/26 season, both fixtures provide a final opportunity to support the sides and celebrate another year of rugby at Taunton Rugby Club.
