This Friday night, the Taunton Titans returnto competitive action as they launch the 2026/27 National League 2 Westcampaign under the lights at Summerfield Stadium, with Devonport Services thevisitors for what promises to be a huge opening night in Taunton.

With the wider community rugby season delayed,the Titans have been given the opportunity to lead the way — and there is areal sense of excitement building around the club as the first XV prepare toget their season underway.

Friday night rugby is back.

A NEW SEASON. A NEW CHAPTER.

Every new season brings change, new faces and new ambitions, and there is plenty to look forward to within the Titans squad this year.

Among those catching the eye are new signings Israel Akinrowo, who joins from the Exeter Chiefs Academy, and Alfie Johns, both of whom will be looking to make their mark in Taunton colours. Gabe Mead joining from Plymouth Albion and Connor Vickery from Hornets

The arrival of new talent adds another exciting dimension to a squad that has plenty of experience and quality already within its ranks.

For the supporters, Friday night will be the first chance to see the new-look Titans in a competitive fixture — and what better way to do it than under the lights?

THE TITANS ARE READY

Devonport Services will provide the opposition for the opening fixture, with the visitors also heading into the new campaign in National League 2 West.

The last meeting between the two sides at Summerfield Stadium produced a thrilling, free-flowing contest, with the Titans eventually coming out on top 57–20. With both teams looking to start the new season positively, Friday night promises to be another entertaining encounter.

There is no better way to start a new season than with a Friday night under the lights, a packed stadium and the anticipation of competitive rugby returning to Summerfield Stadium.

The Titans have worked hard throughout pre-season. Now, it is time to put that preparation into action.
