Match Preview: Taunton Titans vs Redruth – Saturday, 1500 KO

The Taunton Titans return to Summerfield Stadium this Saturday for another big afternoon of National League 2 West rugby, as they welcome Redruth to town (kick-off 15:00).

It’s been a challenging run for the Titans, who fell just short in a thrilling 38–33 encounter away at Chester last weekend. Once again, the game went right down to the wire — a story that has become all too familiar in recent weeks — with Taunton coming away with another valuable losing bonus point. Those narrow margins show just how competitive the side has been, and there’s plenty of belief that a big home performance is just around the corner.

Injuries have certainly tested the squad’s depth, but that also brings opportunity. Several players are stepping up and taking their chances to impress, showing the character and determination that define this group. The coaching team will be looking for those individuals to make their mark and keep the side’s positive momentum building.

Visitors Redruth have made an excellent start to their campaign and currently sit third in the table with five wins from seven. They come into this fixture on the back of a strong 26–0 victory over Hornets, underlining their defensive strength and attacking quality. Taunton know they’ll need to be sharp from the first whistle, but home advantage and the energy of the Summerfield crowd will no doubt give the Titans an extra boost.

This weekend’s fixture is proudly sponsored by Clarke Willmott, whose ongoing support is hugely appreciated by everyone at the club. The match ball sponsor is Civil Solutions — our thanks to them as well for their valued contribution to Taunton Rugby.

With the side competing hard every week and showing real togetherness in the face of challenges, there’s plenty for supporters to get behind. The Titans will be giving it everything to turn those close finishes into victories and make Summerfield Stadium a fortress once again.

It’s set to be another great afternoon of rugby — we’ll see you there to get behind the boys!
