MATCH PREVIEW: OLD REDCLIFFIANS v TAUNTON TITANS

Titans travel to Bristol looking to get back to winning ways

The Taunton Titans are on the road this Saturday as they travel to Bristol to take on Old Redcliffians in another important National 2 West fixture. Following consecutive defeats against Hinckley and Cinderford, the Titans will be determined to respond and get their campaign back on track. Kick-off 2pm.

TITANS SEEK A RESPONSE

Taunton made an impressive start to the season, recording five wins from their opening six matches, including an outstanding 59–12 victory over Lymm at Summerfield.

However, the last two fixtures have proved more challenging. A 24–17 defeat away at Hinckley was followed by a 28–20 loss against Cinderford last weekend. Despite the disappointment, there were positive moments in both performances, and the squad will be keen to turn those efforts into a result this Saturday.

The Titans have already demonstrated the attacking ability within their ranks, scoring freely during the opening weeks of the campaign. The priority now will be to rediscover that attacking rhythm, improve discipline and make the most of their opportunities.

OLD REDCLIFFIANS PROVIDE A TOUGH TEST

Old Redcliffians will provide a stern test on home soil. The Bristol-based side have enjoyed some encouraging results this season, including victories over Devonport Services, Barnstaple and Bournville.

They also recorded an impressive 50–28 away victory against Exeter University. The Titans will need to be disciplined, particularly in defence, and bring plenty of intensity to the set-piece and breakdown.

AN IMPORTANT AWAY DAY

With two difficult results behind them, Saturday offers the Titans an opportunity to reset. Away fixtures in National 2 West are never easy, and Taunton will need to start well, manage possession and take their chances when they come.

There is plenty of quality within this Titans squad, and they will travel to Bristol believing they can get a positive result. A strong collective performance will be key if they are to return to Somerset with the points.
