The Taunton Titans are back on the road this weekend as they make the long journey north to face Lymm in National League 2 West (kick-off 15:00). It’s one of the season’s longest away trips and a real test of focus and resilience as the league campaign gathers momentum.
This will be the first-ever league meeting between the two clubs, with Lymm switching across from the North division into the West for the 2024/25 season. With no recent history between the sides, both teams will be eager to stamp their authority on this new fixture.
The Titans travel with renewed confidence after last Saturday’s outstanding one-point victory over previously unbeaten Camborne at Summerfield Stadium. Camborne arrived with nine wins from nine, making Taunton’s defensive effort, composure, and late-game steel one of the standout performances of the season so far.
Lymm, meanwhile, suffered a 27–19 defeat away to Hornets, but their strong opening to the campaign sees them sitting 5th in the league, just two points ahead of Taunton, who currently occupy 9th. With the table incredibly tight, a positive result this weekend could see the Titans leapfrog several teams and continue building valuable momentum.
Lymm are known for being well-organised, physical, and difficult to break down on home soil. For Taunton, the challenge will be to carry over the same intensity and accuracy shown against Camborne — dominating collisions, controlling territory, and taking opportunities when they present themselves. If the Titans travel well and maintain their standards, they will back themselves to come home with another big result.
It’s a busy weekend for the club, as the Taunton Warriors also return to league duty with an away trip to Midsomer Norton. The Warriors will be looking to put in a strong performance and keep pushing forward in their own campaign.
