With the Taunton Titans competing in National One the squad has been well used with lots of players getting opportunities to compete at this level. A number of players have been unfortunate to receive injuries, some worse than others. Adam Rutter the Taunton Titans head physio gives us a breakdown of the players we may have not seen recently.
Adam "A lot has changed since covid, redeveloping the old gym into injury armour has allowed us to up skill our offerings to injured players which include: accurate testing of strength development, more space and better equipment. We feel this has allowed us to provide an elite service that culminates in boys returning to play, fitter and faster than ever before. Most importantly none of this would be possible without the team. so a special thanks to Lyndon, Jess and Molly."
Freddie Fraser - After suffering a fractured tibia during the first national One league game, Freddie underwent surgery in Leeds to internally fix the fracture. We wont expect to see Freddie play again this season however he has now returned to running and is working hard to come back stronger than ever.
Harry Wright - Harry suffered a Shoulder dislocation in a pre-season fixture. During the dislocation Harry sustained a rotator cuff tear. He is awaiting arthroscopic investigation to establish if surgery is required. We are optimistic as Harry has no pain and has recently hit personal bests in upper body lifting.
Connor Baker - We will not see Connor compete in National One this year after an Achilles tear early on in pre season. No operation is required. He is now just weeks away from running, which we are all sure he is excited for.
Chris Francis - During the somerset cup game Vs Hornets, Chris received a heavy impact to his ribs. We would expect to see Chris back available for selection within the next month.
George Gosling - We are expecting George to be back fit for selection from the 1st March. George has been unavailable after an AC injury he sustained when we played Bishops at home on 22/01/22.
Brett Harvey - Brett rejoins the squad next week following on from a MCL tear. Brett has surpassed all expectations and this is a credit to the hard work he has been putting in.
Toby East - Toby has also suffered an MCL Tear at Rams. Toby is in the early stages of his rehab, we hope to see him again at the tail end of the 21/22 season representing the Titans.
This is a small list of players however in any given week there is a lot more comings and goings with players who are suffering with knocks / niggles / long term issues. Rugby is a contact sport and sadly injuries are a common part of the game so we are fortunate to have a physio team supporting the playing squad to ensure they are at peak performance post injury.
Away from Rugby Adam is also based at Veritas Park with his physio clinic 'Injury Armour'. To find out more about his offerings and how he supports people with pain and injuries head over to: https://www.injuryarmour.com/
