It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of former member Ian Kettles.

Teapot, as he was affectionately known was mainly a “sponge man” and touch judge” in the 70’s and 80’s.  He emigrated to New Jersey some 20+ years ago where he became involved with the New Jersey Mud Turtle Rugby Club.  He helped organise a UK tour for the club in 2017 and we were pleased to host a party of 65 at our Redruth pre-match lunch in the Priory Suite at Commsplus Stadium where they received a standing ovation from everyone present.

He was a real genuine character and will be missed by all who knew him, our condolences go out to his extended family and friends.

On the attached photo Teapot can be seen in the front row on the far right hand side
