After a gruelling pre-season, the lads are raring to go. The hard work has been relentless—fitness tested, skills sharpened, and team spirits tronger than ever.
We’ve faced a tough pre-season schedule, taking on National One sides Rams and Clifton, as well as the ever-daunting trip to Cardiff Met. While results didn’t fall our way, week by week the performances improved, and the squad are now primed for the real thing.
This Friday marks a huge moment: our first-ever game at the newly named Summerfield Stadium. Under the lights, with a 7:45pm kick-off against Exeter University, it’s the perfect chance to make history. We want to set a record attendance for this special opening night—don’t miss your chance to be part of it.
Last season, we had Exeter’s number, completing a double victory: a 21–42 win away and a 31–23 win at home. The Titans went on to finish3rd in the table, while Exeter narrowly avoided relegation, finishing 12th. But make no mistake—early September clashes with Exeter are always dangerous, as their side is typically packed with first-choice players preparing to star in the BUCS competition. Expect a fierce test right from the first whistle.
Gates open at 5pm, with bars pouring early to get the atmosphere buzzing. And it’s not just about the rugby—this is a night for the whole community. We’ll have a huge junior presence from across the club, with young players leading the charge and enjoying everything from giant inflatables and games, to a hog roast, ice cream van and of course the famous Pasty Shed. It’s set to be a true family festival of rugby.
For those who want to make a night of it, the club’s two-course hot buffet will be served from 6:30pm for just £20. Bookings are now open, but spaces are limited, so secure your place early.
With a big crowd expected, we kindly ask supporters not to park on nearby streets or outside our neighbours’ homes. TRFC will have additional parking available, with one of the pitches opened up for cars—so please follow the signs and stewards on arrival.
Entry prices are £15 for adults, while Under-16s go free, making it the perfect evening for families. And with a special flash ticket sale tomorrow, there’s no excuse not to get behind the lads and pack out Summerfield Stadium.
We’re proud to have RDA Insulation as our match sponsor for this big occasion—thank you for your continued support.
This isn’t just another game—it’s the start of a new era at Summerfield Stadium. The noise, the energy, the juniors leading the charge, the rugby under the lights—it’s a night you simply can’t afford to miss.
Friday night. 7:45pm. Summerfield Stadium. Be there.
