AGM & Membership News

Dear members, sponsors, players and supporters of Taunton RFC,

We met as a committee on the 7th September and agreed to call an AGM for the beginning of November with paperwork to be sent to all members as soon as possible, with great regret this plan has had to change following the Government announcement today that as from mid September all groups in excess of 6 are effectively banned.

Following immediate discussions we have agreed that reports on the rugby and operational matters for the past year will be provided by myself, Peter Stone Hon Secretary and Dick Macey President, along with accounts which will be sent out to all members as soon as possible. The current committee will continue in post until such time as it is safe, legal and practical to have an AGM along with the election of committee members and officers as we have always done. We have every intention of having the AGM, though that may well now be later this year or even early next, there is no way that we want to risk the health of any individual by rushing to have the meeting.  In addition to this the RFU have made it very clear that any breaches of Covid Protocol may result in the withdrawal of club insurance.

Membership for the new season is fixed at the price of last and we are welcoming renewals, the forms will be accessible from the website, we have agreed that due to the uncertainty of both when the Titans matches will start and how many there will be that there will be no season tickets this season.

If anyone has concerns please do not hesitate to contact me on 07711 959 026,

John Wrelton

Taunton RFC Chairman 2019/2020
