Taunton Titans Vs Cinderford

A fantastic game from a very well coached side were the comments of Paul Morris the Cinderford coach.  He felt that whilst his team edged the game it was by the finest of margins and it could have gone either way.

Taunton opened the scoring on eight minutes after Mason burst through to feed his winger Downs only to take the ball back from Downs make further progress before passing on to Banks who gave the pass to Tarling for thetry.  The best try of the match executed at pace by the Taunton three quarters. Walsh converted to give Taunton a seven-point lead which they held for eight minutes before Nathan (poacher) Taylor scored the first of his two tries of the afternoon which was converted by Boughton to level the scores.  It was on 27 minutes that Cinderford scrumhalf burst round the blindside of a maul to set his wing on route for the try line and it was his support when his wing was stopped that secured the try, hehad started.  The conversion was missed leaving the scores at 12 points to 7 in Cinderford’s favour at half time.  Within two minutes of the re-start of the second half Taunton were on the score sheet again with a well worked try from a storming break by Mason again, feeding Aron Struminski the Taunton wing and with Walsh missing the conversion the scores were even.  It was Nathan Taylor again from a Cinderfordwell worked maul that scored his second try to edge Cinderford in front with Boughton missing the conversion.  Another break through the centre by Mason took him to within inches of the Cinderford line and from the breakdown man of the Match Dan Swain went over for the try.  Walsh converted giving Taunton atwo-point lead.  As we entered the lastquarter of the match Cinderford setup, yet another rolling maul and their number 8 Harry Hone scored their fourth and bonus point try which was convertedby Boughton.  Boughton added two further penalty goals in the last 10 minutes and secured the 30 points to 19 win.
