Taunton face a highflying Old Albanian side in national league action at Hyde Park on Saturday.

The Hertfordshire-based side previously inflicted Taunton's biggest away defeat of the season, running in 62 points to only 7 in reply. Taunton coach Tony Yapp said, "We're under no illusions that this is going to be a tough challenge for us this weekend.

"It was pretty tough going when we last met, and OAs are right up there pushing for promotion currently. However, we've been training well, the lads are up for the game, and there’s confidence that we can spring a few surprises on our home turf.

“Chris Bentley has done a good job analysing OAs methods, and we've worked hard to shape our own game plan to counter their wide ranging offence. Possession will be a key factor. If our pack can compete at the breakdown, and we win our own set piece, I’ve no doubt we have the arsenal in our own backs to cause them problems.

“Saturday promises to be a challenging encounter, and with over 100 former players attending their annual pre-match function that day, I’ve no doubt that our supporters will be loud and passionate come kick off."

A decision on the fitness of Jason Luff will be made on Saturday. Taunton’s industrious play-maker returns to the team alongside the league top try scorer Reuben Haile, and will certainly strengthen the side’s cause. Taunton vs Old Albanian, Hyde Park, Sat Feb 18th, KO 3pm.
